PROBIOTICS

Probiotics are live microorganisms (bacteria or yeasts), which, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host. Symbiotics are the combination of both prebiotics and probiotics.

Potential therapeutic applications

Potential therapeutical applications include the prevention and treatment of diarrhea by rotavirus; the prevention and treatment of allergy and eczema, plus rhinitis, eczema, food allergies, Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), and improvement of intestinal comfort. Other indications: lactose intolerance, infection by helicobacter pylori, prevention of urinary tract infections and vaginal infections.
